It's been exactly one month

since the last blog post. And we've lost followers, which is not surprising at all. I'd like to really apologize, because I've not been putting very much effort into the blog lately, and it was just starting to actually really get going...

I'm not really sure what's going on with Sarah, because I don't see her very often lately. however, I had a lot of posts lined up, but I lost the motivation to get anything done. I've been stressed out lately, and I have a lot on my plate at the moment. I feel like right now I need to focus on things that are a little more important to me: the upcoming school year, my job, and my relationship with my boyfriend as well as those with my friends. So I can't really tell you how much you'll be seeing of me in the next month or so, but when everything settles down I promise I will get back to blogging regularly.

I hope things are going well for you all.

P.S. apologies for my atrocious grammar, as well.

Amnesia

(next cover of Vogue, yes?)

Last night I came up with an amazing idea for a blog post, and I was sooo excited to share it with you all today! I mean, this idea was fantastic - best idea I've ever had. And even though I was going to do an outfit post today, I was prepared to push that post back a day for this new brilliant idea. You guys think I'm kidding, right? No, I'm not. I'm serious, I was pumped. So I signed on to my computer today after a long first day at my new job (yes, I got a job!), and headed on over to Blogger and...

nothing.

I could not, for the life of me, remember what my idea had been. Can you believe it?! THIS is what happens when you come up with a great idea while you're lying in bed and you neglect to write it down! All I remember is that it was perfect for the day after Valentine's Day and even if I remember it now, the idea won't work as well after today.

And so...I bring you this outfit post. As previously planned. It will have to be good enough for you, I'm afraid.
I wore this for Valentine's Day yesterday - which was another day of really great weather, by the way. I didn't do anything romantic with my boyfriend, because he lives so far away that it just wasn't possible. However, I did go out with my friends (including Sarah Beth). We ate a restaurant and were serenaded by a violinist...and then we went to a protest.

Well, sort of. It was an "anti-protest." Westboro Baptist Church (I'm sure you all know of them, and if not then I recommend a google search) was protesting a film that was being screened at the college that I'll be attended next year. It was a film about hatred - what causes it, how it can be combated, etc - and the church was featured in the film. Basically, they were protesting a film that preached acceptance, forgiveness and togetherness. Pretty ridiculous, right? But if you know the Westboro Baptist Church, then you know that it's really not that surprising.
Basically we stuck around for about 5-10 minutes of protest-ogling and then went into the building to watch the film. All in all, it was a very romantic evening (sarcasm).

(photo inspired by Black Swan...hehe)

So! What did you lovely people do this Valentine's Day?
(also, sorry for another humongous post!)

Great Scott!

I am so sorry I've been away for so long! But I have some pretty sturdy excuses, if I may say so myself~ So I'll just spurt them out to you one by one :)

1. High School Pageant

It was last weekend, and for the first time I did a talent during the pageant. That will never happen again, trust me! It just added way too much stress to the whole thing! In fact, I was so nervous to sing in front of everyone (which is strange, since I perform in theater all the time and its never phased me before) that I completely forgot to take pictures of my opening number dress, talent outfit and gown. BUT! To make up for it, I compiled this mash-up of gown inspiration! These are the things I look for in a prom or pageant dress:
(The National History Museum)

2. Auditions!!!

Yes, so my highschool drama department just happens to be doing my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLAY EVER. I mean, the show that I know every word and dance too by heart; the show that got me into theater in the first place; the show that has been with me since early childhood...and auditions were this week! So, as you can guess, I was too busy stressing to even dress cute all week! The cast list should be up next week, so I'll keep you updated :)

3. The Camera That Broke

(Scarf: Victoria Secret, Coat: Old Navy, Cardigan: Old Navy, Belt: Forever 21, Button Up: Old Navy, Jeans: Express, Jewerly: Steinmart)

So, as you can see, these are very bad pictures. That is because my camera died on me D:
Seriously- its gone. I'll have to buy a new one! In the mean time, I can use my moms but unfortunately its wasn't charged today...and I knew if I put off taking pictures any longer it would just never happen. So instead, you get these crappy web-cam ones! Yay :)

Oh, and one more thing, I thought I'd share some art with you all. I really only draw in my spare time now (which is like, never!) so I didn't work very hard on any of these...but I think they turned out decent :)

I love puns

Hello again, blogging world! I apologize for my absence, but I'm really not very sorry. I was busy this past week spending some quality time with my boyfriend and celebrating my 18th birthday. Spending time with Jordan was amazing, and my birthday (and subsequent "party") were great as well. :) All in all, I've been having a wonderful time, and I honestly didn't think all that much about blogging! But now I'm glad to be back to it, and I've got an outfit post for you all.

(this photo was taken in between 2 expressions; I hope you find it as amusing as I did)

Now, the photos I got are of worse quality than usual, and I'm really sorry about that! But when I decided to take these, the sun was starting to go down and it was so very windy outside...so I decided to just take them in my room...and then I edited them in a hurry. You may be saying to yourself, "What was she thinking taking pictures next to the window instead of in front of it?" And to that I say...I don't know what I was doing, please cut me some slack. :(

I wore this for my birthday party, for which I invited some friends over to play Rock Band and eat cake and pizza. I know it doesn't sound that exciting, but it was a lot of fun!
Anyway, something that I noticed about this outfit is that it may have looked better if I wasn't wearing the navy tank underneath the white tank. However, on me, that looked absolutely horrible because I am a bit big-chested. (Trust me, it's not what the media cracks it up to be. It's a huge inconvenience when it comes to picking out clothes...) So I had to suck it up and wear the tank underneath, and although it doesn't look as good, I was happy to be able to wear the bottom half of this outfit with the cardigan, because I thought they were a great match...

Jordan got me the pendant on this necklace for my birthday. Isn't it adorable?! I've been collecting owl necklaces for a few years, and this is now my favorite in my collection. I love how it's so colorful! Oh, and it doubles as a pin!
Speaking of Jordan, you may be wondering about that introduction that I mentioned. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures of us on my camera, but I have a cell-phone photo of us making Myspace faces (oh, the days of Myspace...) that I'll put at the bottom of the post, just so you all can "meet" him.

Well, that's about it for today. :) I'm going to put together a playlist for my next post, and there will likely be a new layout (finally) for the blog in the near future! Also, as usual, please don't hesitate to comment with any suggestions.
Until next time...

Keep on truckducking!

Hello Goodbye

This is just a quick post to inform you all that I will probably be absent from the blog for the next week, because I'll be spending it with my loverly boyfriend who arrived here in SC on Thursday. :)

Things are going wonderfully, in case you were wondering, and we're about to go see Tangled (for my second time). Oh, and tomorrow is my birthday! Yaaay!

See you all next week!

Bad Weather

Align Center

I've been thinking of ways to incorporate my different interests and inspirations into this blog, and I'm slowly coming up with a few ideas. For example, I've really wanted to showcase music that I enjoy and some that I find inspirational. I was thinking maybe a weekly or bi-weekly playlist? Does that sound good? Haha, I'm so indecisive...

I've also been trying a different way of editing our photos, and I think I quite like it. They aren't perfect, but I read a few tutorials and I think what I've come up with works for me. :) I may try different things in the future, but for now...this is good.

In other news, we rescheduled Jordan's flight because bad weather was supposed to hit New York, and he was supposed to arrive today...but then they closed the airport here because of bad weather! We just can't win! This whole experience has really made me resent snow... Anyway, we're rescheduling the flight to Thursday, and hopefully everything goes well and the weather in NY isn't so bad that he can't make it... But it really doesn't look like it's going to work at all... I really don't know. Sigh, I'm just doing some wishful thinking.

I bought these tights last week to replace another pair of brown patterned tights that somehow got a few holes in them... And, wouldn't you know, these have already got a hole in them!
I obviously have really horrible luck with tights. It doesn't make any sense to me, either, because I am extremely careful not to snag them on anything, and I try to keep my kitten's claws away from them... But they still wind up with runs and holes! I just don't get it...
However, the hole is so small (and hardly noticeable) that I just might leave it with some clear nail-polish to avoid letting the hole grow larger... Yep, told you guys I was cheap.

ps: i really do not know whats up with my expression in the 5th photo...so let's just pretend we didn't notice it. & tell me what you guys think about the playlist/photos!

Long Distance

Since Sarah Beth mentioned her boyfriend moving away, I figured now would be as good a time as any to talk about my own boyfriend of over a year and a half, Jordan. I definitely understand Sarah's current position, because Jordan lives about 13 hours away.
It might sound like a horrible situation to someone who's never been in a long distance relationship - and believe me, it's not all that easy - but nor is it that bad, either. I mean, distance is easily overcome when you really love one another :) We make it work, and it's definitely worth it.

And, in much brighter news, Jordan will be flying down from New York on Wednesday, and he'll be staying for two weeks! I'm unbelievably excited, as I'm sure you can understand. Maybe I'll post some pictures from his visit onto the blog for a proper introduction.

Anyway, let's talk about this outfit. :) This is what I was originally going to wear for New Year's Eve, which was spent with some of my closer friends... That is, until my kitten clawed a nice hole into these tights - about 20 or 30 minutes after these pictures were taken - and I had to change.

I have the habit of buying cheap rings and wearing them until they start to turn bronze-colored... I try to be careful not to get them wet, but it happens anyway! This ring is one of those that I've been wearing lately, and as you can see, the color is already starting to change... Oh well! This dress is one of my absolute favorites. I love the color, the pattern, the light fabric... However, it is unfortunately rather short. Much too short to wear during the summer - which is when I bought it to be worn. So, instead, I wear it during the winter with tights or leggings on underneath. I really need to start paying attention to the length of dresses before I order them online!

I was feeling a bit goofy when I was taking these photos, as you can see... I must admit, I feel "a bit goofy" quite often, so you should probably get used to seeing me making silly faces! Until next time, I leave you with this:

*Goodbyes*

Jacket: Pac Sun, Top: Pac Sun, Skirt: New York & Co., Tights: Apt. 9, Socks: Apt. 9, Shoes: Blowfish, Necklace: Wet Seal

My lovely boyfriend of a year and two months actually got me the jacket and top both for Christmas! So I went ahead and wore them since he is actually moving about three hours away today! D: I'm happy for him because he'll be closer to his family and all...but the selfish part of me would rather tie him up and keep him here! But as my mother likes to say, if its meant to be nothing will break us apart. :)

The lizard ring I have on is from Wet Seal and I adore it! I don't know if you can tell but the gemstones on it are actual a smoky purple color, which is wonderful against the gunmetal. I love wearing it out because it gets so much attention- in fact my friend the other day actually got startled and jumped back! Granted she is afraid of lizards...

I've had these Blowfish booties for way over a year now but this is actually the first time I've worn them. The ankle is very tight and its hard to fit jeans into them without it looking all bunched and awkward, and I never liked them with any of my skirts until this outfit. I'm just glad I'm finally getting to wear them, because they're so detailed and cute!

I'm off to school tomorrow for my last high school semester! Wish me luck~
I'll have picks of my back-to-school outfit for you all...(its actually the same thing I wore for Christmas!)
